What's so special about T·A·P Pest Control Insulation?

environmentsignT·A·P is "Green" T·A·P is All-Natural, Environmentally Friendly, and Permanent.   A natural fiber insulation product treated with boric acid and other proprietary formulations to produce fire-retardant, environmentally-friendly, thermally superior, sound-deadening insulation with pest control properties. T·A·P is acceptable for use around humans and pets, but deadly to cockroaches, silverfish, ants, termites, and many other crawling insects. T·A·P is labeled by the EPA and can only be installed by Licensed Pest Control Operators.

T·A·P is the combination of two well-respected technologies, recycled cellulose and natural borate pesticides; creating a Dense Thermal, Acoustical & Pest Control Insulation that is greatly superior to Fiberglass Insulation and Normal Cellulose Insulation.  It is also the only stabilized pest control insulation. We can use T·A·P to cap existing insulation in attics, installed after the removal of insulation contaminated by rodents or other wildlife, or can be installed new in the attics, walls as part of a total pest management package.

T·A·P saves you $$$!

T·A·P quickly pays for itself by reducing your home energy costs and then continues to save you money month after month.  T·A·P saves money by decreasing energy bills. You home will stay cooler in the summer and warm and cozy in winter for less money.  T·A·P is denser than fiberglass insulation, air does not move through it well, so it resists heat transfer by convection, as well as conduction and radiation. And since there aren't the leaks and drafts associated with ordinary insulation, mechanical systems don't work as hard and can be down-sized, further saving money. Areas in the home maintain more uniform temperatures between floors and ceilings, upstairs and downstairs, even next to exterior walls.

Is cellulose a fire hazard?

Most likely your home is made from cellulose (made from wood and forest products). T·A·P Insulation contains a fire-retardant chemical that actually makes homes safer in case of fire. Many homes use common fiberglass insulation, which can melt in a fire, creating a chimney-like effect in a wall.  T·A·P, with its fire-retardant characteristics, forms a charred surface barrier which limits the spread of fire.

Fire Retardant Properties!

Watch the video and see just how the fire retardent properties of T·A·P work.(Don't try this at home!)

How can T·A·P Insulation help control Pests?

T·A·P is EPA-labeled Pest Control Insulation, treated with boric acid.  Boric Acid is made from borax and boron-containing salts and is considered a natural pesticide.  Although deadly to many insects, T·A·P is acceptable for use around humans and pets.  T·A·P Insulation helps to control insects entering your home through your attic.  Annoying and even destructive pests may breed and form colonies in your attic or walls, coming out at night, seeking food and water.  As insects crawl through the insulation, particles of boric acid attach to the hairs on their legs and their bodies.  These particles are abrasive and can destroy the exterior exoskeleton of the insects, killing them.  Or, as insects groom themselves or each other they ingest these particles which act as a stomach poison.  Insects can't build up a tolerance to T·A·P, and it never needs re-treating. T·A·P controls ants, cockroaches, silverfish, termites, and other insects listed on the EPA label. And because boric acid is not repellant to insects, insects continue to contact the boric acid and die.
