WHAT PRODUCTS ARE EFFECTIVE, SAFE, AND WON'T KILL YOUR PLANTS?

ecoexempt ROSEMARY/WINTERGREEN OIL

What does Exempt mean?
  • Considered Minimum Risk* by the EPA, exempt products do not require federal registration.
  • In most states, these products are not considered pesticides, so posting and notification laws do not apply.
  • Peace of mind for customers and applicators!

Rosemary/Wintergreen oil is our newest and BEST product.  Eliminates mosquitoes without hurting your plants.  Perfect for residential use.  Due to it's safety, it is  exempt from federal registration (FIFRA 25(b)(2)).

Permethrin  - PREFERRED PRODUCT

Permethrin is a low odor synthetic pyrethroid (similar to Pyrethrum) product we find very effective for mosquito and flying insect control, particularly when a customer might be allergic to botanical pyrethrum.  In fact, the CDC (National Center for Disease Control) recommends permethrin for use on clothing in areas where deer ticks may be present.  Deer ticks can transmit Lyme Disease.

Pyrethrum

Some companies call this A "Natural" Botanical Insecticide and it is, but it is also an extreme respiratory irritant and not necessarily the best for your family!   A small % of people continue to be allergic to Pyrethrum and may have a severe reaction.  For those customers we have other products just as effective.

Pyrethrum is considered biodegradable and is sought for sensitive applications like the post-harvest treatment of fruits and vegetables.  Natural pyrethrum is so safe that the U. S. government approves its use on such insect-prone foods as tomatoes, even while they are on their way to the supermarket or processing plant.

Knockdown Effects

Combined with a synergist, natural pyrethrums are one of the fastest acting insecticides known.  Even before it kills, it knocks down and paralyzes insects almost immediately.

Jamming

Apparently small amounts of pyrethrum can jam the "black box" of the insect's food searching mechanism.  The insects forget to eat, as it were.

Resistance

After decades of use, no insect population has ever developed significant pyrethrum resistance.
